UPDATE

1.9.06 Arroe tells us he will be playing - what else? - a radio DJ, in a film titled "The People's Movie". The final cut is scheduled for later this month.

12.31.05 It appears Arroe has quietly resurfaced back into the Charlotte market - he was doing holiday relief on Clear Channel's Lite 102.9. No word yet as to if he's got a permanent gig at Lite...

BACKGROUND

Ever since the show's inception, Arroe Collins was one of the original Monkey Boys. Whether it was his karate antics, or his Mumbo Jumbo, he was a worthy contributor to the Funny Farm.

Unbeknownst to us, his final show was October 21, 2005. Pam made this announcement at the top of the show on November 1:

"... And, you know, we should say now, because we haven't said - I've had a lot of emails from people saying, you know, "Where's Arroe?" (Rosie barks) What is it -- right now, Rosie's saying, "Where is he? What's going on?" He may be in China, for all I know. You know, he got that Chinese crested dog, but anyway... Arroe, sadly, is no longer a part of this show, we miss him to bits, he's got some very cool things going on, (starts tearing up) and we wish him all the success in the world..."

It was also on that day that the term "monkey boys" was officially put to rest.

Aside from Arroe being a Monkey Boy, you may also know that he was a mystic.

Arroe has had quite the soothsaying portfolio. Who can forget the time he's accurately predicted a hurricane?

With that said, we present "Arroe's Magic 8-Ball". Ask a question out loud at your computer, then press the button, and be patient as you await Arroe's answer. Yes, you might feel a little stupid talking to the computer - but you won't feel stupid if you put your trust in Arroe's wisdom.

Now, how is this for mysticism: Who knew that the first day we unveiled this section on our website - October 24, 2005 - would also be the first day Arroe would mysteriously disappear from the show? In that spirit, a little piece of Arroe will live on in this section. From time to time, we'll dig back into the archives and post some audio clips and photos. And if anyone has any contributions for this, or any of our sections, feel free to send it along.
